You have just a few seconds to impress a
potential client, which is why if you are going to spend any money on
developing your marketing material you'll need to make sure that what you are
saying "speaks" to your target market in the most effective way.
Garnish offers a full copy writing service where
we will delve into "who" your target market actually are, what you are selling,
we will look at your USP and ensure that what we write is attracting your target
market in the most effective way.
You would not speak to a business the same way
you would speak to a local resident. In the same way that you would not market to
an elderly person the same way you would try to attract a teenager.
Think about your copy before you just send out
your marketing, whether the marketing is in a brochure format, sales letter, e-mail
campaign or even through your website. What you say needs to be consistent
throughout your campaign.
A few simple tips for writing effective copy
would be:
-
Keep it simple - do not overload
the client with info
-
Be clear - use words that the
majority of people will understand
-
Make sure you mention your USP.
-
Make sure you have some sort of
call to action (write info about Call to action and give examples) create link
here.
Call to
action
What is a call to action?
Basically it is the reason that a new potential
client will contact you. You are calling your target market to "action" the
marketing message you are sending out. This may be in a few different formats.
Discount vouchers (although this is not always
the best way to attract new loyal clients - it can just say "we're cheap!")
Example: Two for One offers, Free item with every
purchase. Etc (these offers come directly out of your bottom line and affect
your GP)
Added Value statements - this is actually telling
the potential client what they will get from you that perhaps your competitor
doesn't offer.
Example: Gold standard warranty with every
purchase over $50.00 (you may already offer this as STD but promoting it in
this way makes you sound as though you are offering more)
Limited time offers - Example: Come in before the
31st July to receive your bonus points/prize/gift/discount.
Points system /membership call up - Example: Come
in to our store to sign up for your membership card (limited numbers apply)
You can see that all of these promotions offer
"something" to entice the potential client to action your marketing message and
choose your company to purchase from over your competitors.
Garnish Marketing can help you create a campaign
that has a call to action that suits your business and works in with your KPI's
and benchmarks.
